There is wild jubilation on the streets of Banjui and other cities in Gambia, after incumbent, Yahya Jammeh conceded defeat in the presidential election after 22 Years of Dictatorship.
The victory of opposition candidate, Adama barrow is an upset as Jammeh has ruled the country for 22 years.
Earlier, Ruth Maclean, a reporter with the UK’s Guardian newspaper in The Gambia had tweeted details about the breaking news that President Jammeh is to concede defeat to opposition leader Adama Barrow.
Few minutes later, the recording was released.
Barrow, who has the support of seven political parties, had won 22 out of 53 constituencies or 138,148 votes in Thursday’s presidential polls. Also, video below shows President Jammeh conceding defeat to opposition leader Adama Barrow.
