Both the atmosphere and performance inside Godswill Akpabio Stadium have been solid this evening, leaving the fans with something to talk about at the half-time break.

Zambia haven’t necessarily been bad as they’ve caused too many problems for Nigeria, despite a decent performance from Moses Simon. The youngster has arguably been the hosts’ best player so far, but even he’s found it difficult to get the better of the oppositions’ stubborn defence.

GOAL LIVE REPORT: Nigeria Vs Zambia

More Updates shortly!…..
90′ + 1′ Yellow card John Ching’andu
90′ Ola Aina and Victor Moses pull off a quick one-two just outside of the Zambia penalty area that sets up the latter to get a shot away, but just as he’s about to, he slips and goalkeeper Mweene makes a simple catch. Three minutes added time.
88′ Nigeria have been dominating the last 10 minutes or so, but they can’t find a way through past Zambia who are left with no desire or drive as they look a defeated team, mentally and physically. This is not the night they had planned.
J. Ching’andu
A. Mulenga
Zambia
87′ Substitution Augustine Mulenga John Ching’andu
84′ The noise in this stadium is never ending. The party will go long into the night here at Godswill Akpabio Stadium, as Nigeria are few minutes away from their sixth Fifa World Cup. William Troost-Ekong heads away Zambia’s attacking forays
81′ Victory tonight would see Nigeria move six-points clear of Zambia and qualify for Russia 2018 with a game in hand, and you can see just what it means to these fans. They’re bouncing up and down all over the stadium, singing their hearts out. Zambia’s confidence is shaken and Nigeria smell blood!
O. Aina
E. Echiejile
Nigeria
79′ Substitution Elderson Uwa Echiejile Temitayo Olufisayo Olaoluwa Aina
J. Shonga
F. Sakala
Zambia
78′ Substitution Junior Fashion Sakala Justin Shonga
75′ Every nooks and crannies of the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, there is just one name on every fans’ lips…IWOBI! IWOBI!! IWOBI !!!
A. Iwobi
Goal
Nigeria
73′ GOAL!!! Alex Iwobi profits from a moment of carelessness from the Chipolopolo backline to fire past Mweene. The Super Eagles take the lead and head closer to Russia. What a strike!
A. Shehu
Assist
Nigeria
73′ Assist Abdullahi Shehu
72′ TERRIBLE FINISH FROM IGHALO!  The forward collects a pass from Victor Moses who profited from a blistering speed from Alex Iwobi but he was so sluggish as he loses possession to the Zambians. That was poor.
69′ Nigeria keep pushing forward as they try to build on the momentum gained over the last few minutes, but Rohr’s attacking options look so disorganised to muster a shot at goal
A. Iwobi
M. Simon
Nigeria
66′ Substitution Moses Daddy Simon Alex Iwobi.   Iwobi’s introduction will add more creative bites to the Super Eagles forward and hopefully, that could cut the sharp fangs of the Zambians who look so resolute in this encounter.
A. Shehu
Yellow Card
Nigeria
63′ Yellow card Abdullahi Shehu
62′ Ernest Mwepu fouled by Abdullahi Shehu and the Cyprus based defender as expected gets cautioned by the referee. Before then, Odion Ighalo fails to control Victor Moses’ goal-inviting pass. The China man has not been impressive in this encounter
59′ WHAT A SAVE! Kennedy Mweene with a world class save. Seems he added to his arm to save Wilfred Ndidi header. This encounter has certainly lived up to its billing with both sides launching beautiful attacks.
K. Mtonga
Yellow Card
Zambia
56′ Yellow card Kondwani Mtonga
55′ Shehu Abdullahi hacks down Alex Ngonga and the visitors have a chance to pump their attack with a freekick. That was a lucky one from the defender who escaped being cautioned by the referee
52′ Super Eagles defenders standing and watching as Zambia march their way up the pitch. It looked a few times like the visitors had a chance to break up the move, but it doesn’t happen, and it leads to a real chance for Lungu, but he’s thwarted at the near post by William Troost-Ekong ! Good positioning and reactions from the defender
E. Mbewe
C. Lungu
Zambia
51′ Substitution Chisamba Lungu Ernest Mbewe
49′ Nigeria off to a flying start in this second half and the Chipolopolo look shaken. Mikel Obi’s eyes light up as he has close to get the curtain raiser but can’t hit the target – he wins a corner though. The hosts are starting this second half exactly how they finished the first.
46′ We’re underway once again! Zambia restart

HALF-TIME: NIGERIA 0-0 ZAMBIA

45′  The fourth official has indicated that there will be just two minutes of added time.
44′ Another great move by the Super Eagles. Odion Ighalo does well to show composure in the opponents box, sends a semi-high chip to Moses Simon whose well-taken bicycle-kick goes way off the crossbar. Goalkick to Zambia
41′ Everything good happening for Nigeria at the moment has Moses at the heart of it. If Zambia can smother him and close him down, no one else, at least as of yet, has shown an ability or desire to step up and take charge. Ighalo fires wide.
38′ Nervy moments in the Chipolopolo defence as John Obi Mikel’s fires wide in front of the goal area. The pace of this match is still very high and it remains wonderfully open, which had resulted in some excellent viewing from a neutral’s perspective.
M. Agu
Yellow Card
Nigeria
35′ Yellow card Mikel Ndubusi Agu
34′ Zambia are presented with a good opportunity to counter-attack after dealing with the corner, but Nigeria are just about able to get enough Orange shirts back just as a poor cross in from Mwepu fails to pick out a team-mate on the edge of the penalty area.
31′ What a great miss from Alex Ng’onga ! He finds his way in front of goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa, looked like he was going to slot in, but his execution was poor. Leon Balogun was rather sluggish to let him go
M. Agu
O. Onazi
Nigeria

30′ Substitution Ogenyi Eddy Onazi Mikel Ndubusi Agu
28′ LOVELY HIT! Much, much better from Nigeria as they continue to threaten Zambia backline. Moses smartly moves from the right and the he r places a first-time effort in towards the far post, but Mweene is able to parry at full-stretch
25′ Seem Onazi will not be able to continue with this enounter as he is stretchered off. Should that happen, Mikel Agu will be the man to be called to duty. Still 0-0 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.
22′ Ogenyi Onazi’s attacking ploy fails. Decent response here by Zambia as Augustine Mulenga finds his way into the Nigerian box. He scores but referee Joshua Bondo rules for an offside.
19′ There’s a great tempo to this match, which remains entertainingly open as both sides show plenty of attacking intent. If the first 20 odd minutes are any indication, there should be plenty more goals to be had in this contest.
16′ VERY CLOSE: Simon Moses darts forward but his swift cross is missed by Chelsea’s Victor Moses who could have slotted past Mweene
13′ Zambia, a team whose confidence is in a fragile state, need a quick start to settle the nerves, but they don’t get one. They have a spring in their step from the off, while the Super Eagles appear very tentative in possession. Kalaba gets the second shooting chance, but his effort goes all wrong.
10′ More good play by Nigeria sees Moses Simon skip into the right-hand side of the Zambia penalty area. He then tries to cut a clever pass across the face of goal, but, once again, the visitors do well to deal with the danger.
7′ The pace of these Eagles attackers is already causing one or two problems for the Zambia backline. Moses and Simon are flying down the flanks at every opportunity, with Zambia quick to play balls over the top for them to chase.
4′ Nigeria have started very brightly in this encounter and goalkeeper Mweene has been forced to make an early save. That was a near miss for the Super Eagles
1′  We’re off! Nigeria get us underway, attacking from right to left.
ZAMBIA XI: Mweene, Silwimba, Tembo, Sunzu, Kapumbu, Mtonga, Mwepu, Mulenga, Sakala, Lungu, Ngonga
NIGERIA XI: Ezenwa, Echiejile, Ndid, Balogun, Ekong, Ighalo, Obi, Moses, Shehu, Simon, Onazi
There’s just under 15 minutes left to go until kick-off, so let’s have a look at how the two teams will be lining up this evening…
