Why Nigerian Senate Website Shut Down.
While Nigerians are still coming to terms with the ‘sale’ or ‘hack’ of the ruling party, APC’s Twitter handle, the official Website of the Nigerian Senate has been shut down.
All updates and operations on the Official website of the Nigerian Senate http://www.senate.gov.ng has been terminated by its hosts, A US-based Web hosting company “Blue Hosts”.
Why Nigerian Senate’s Website Was Shut Down
When trying to access the website, a message displays on its page “This account has been suspended, Contact you Hosting provider”. See image below.
Basically, There are two known causes of such reports:
- Lack of payment for renewal of Domain or Hosting
- Violation of the hosts Terms of Service (ToS)
How Much Does It Cost To Renew Senate’s Website
In our estimate, the Nigerian senate’s official website can be renewed with less than 1,000USD which is less than N350,000 for a whole Year.
Where all over the world, nations are reacting to GDPR and protecting its citizens and their privacy, a Government is hosting its sovereign information overseas, cannot pay its bill which may be lower than my estimate by the way, but over-inflated because of graft.
