See disturbing photos of the collapsed Ikem Bridge in Enugu

The collapse of the Ikem bridge, located at the Ebonyi River in Isi-Uzo local government area of Enugu state, has caused untold hardship for commuters in communities within Enugu, Benue and Ebonyi states today. This has restricted movement within the area as some people swim through the river to get to various their destinations.
The hanging Ikem bridge built by the Nigerian army shortly after the civil​ war, finally caved in when a ‘Dangote’ truck carrying 900 bags of cement tried to pass through it. See more photos after the cut…
Many communities in Enugu, Ebonyi, Benue have been cut off & Commuters traveling from Ehamufu to Enugu now terminate their journeys at different ends of the river and swim across to continue their journey.
