AACCIMA Unveils Anambra Trade Fair Prospectus.

In determination to showcase a world class Trade Fair in Anambra State, the Association of Anambra Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (AACCIMA), has on wednessday, unveiled its prospectus for the upcoming Anambra Trade Fair 2016, tagged ‘The Jubilee Fair’.

With the event theme-tagged: “To Harness Anambra’s Natural Resources for Non-oil Exports, as a World-Class Trade Hub”, the venue, Geo-gold Hotels, Awka, was filled to capacity with captains of industries and government officials duly present and ably represented.

Some Dignitaries who graced the event includes:

Chief H.E Willie Obiano, represented by Hon. Commissioner for Trade, Commerce, Market and Wealth Creation, Barr. Mrs Uzoamaka Ilobi;

Secretary to the State Government, Prof Soluchukwu Lobelu, represented by Dr Dan Ezeonwu (Permanent Secretary);

Engr. Dr. Nnamdi Nwandiobu (Chairman, Awka South Local Government Area)

Chief Azubuike Okafor, Chairman, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (Enugu,Ebonyi and Anambra Chapter);

Chief Nnamdi Meko, Former commissioner of Agriculture and also (Chairman, All Farmer Association of Anambra);

Sir Izuchukwu Nnabueze, Managing Director, Premier Brewery;

Engr. Sunday Ayoba, (Chairman, Standard Organization of Nigeria, Anambra State Chapter);

Mr John Okorie, (Chairman, Nigeria Export promotion Council, Owerri);

Dr. Geobili Ekwunife (Managing Director, Anambra State Investment promotion and protection agency, ANSIPPA)

Hon. Commissioner for Information and Communication Strategy, Mr Ogbuefi Nnacheta, represented by Mrs Nnadi Obiegeli;

Dr C. Okonkwo, President, Anambra Hotel Owners Association.

Some other Organizations duly represented include: ANSIPPA, Fidelity bank, FRSC, NUJ, NLC, and NULGE.


Chief Ndubuisi Nwobu (Obuka Awka), President, Chambers of Commerce, Awka, who welcomed all to the epoch making ceremony after the breaking of kola, thanked Ndi-Anambra for their resourcefulness and enterprising spirit. In continuation of his welcome address, he eulogizes H.E Governor Willie Obiano, saying;

“Our greatest appreciation goes to the working governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano, whose love for great things with a midas touch is unparalleled in the annals of governance in our dear state”.

Chief Nwobu, went on to state that the trade fair is a must for every major industry or trade group in Nigeria, emphasizing the huge market readily available in Anambra. In ending his address, he enjoined all stakeholders, giants of commerce and industries to take advantage of this win-win trade fair.

In the same vein, Mr Sunny Nwachukwu, Chairman of the trade fair committee, highlights the importance of the Anambra State Trade Fair. In his words;

“Anambra state trade fair has come to stay”.

He beckoned on all and sundry to turn up and participate at the fair proper in November. Emphasizing on the importance of the fair to “Ndi Anambra”, He urged all partners and stakeholders to contribute in any way possible to ensure its success.

While citing  the business benefits and attractions that abound for intending exhibitors, he pointed out that Anambra State, being the most secured state in Nigeria is now considered as the most favorable investment hub. Finally, he made a clarion call, saying;

“come and showcase your products and services. Come and grow your businesses, come and invest in Anambra”. “The chicken has come to roost”, he ended.

During her Goodwill message, The Hon Commissioner for Trade, Commerce, Market and Wealth Creation, Bar. Mrs Uzoamaka Ilobi, (representing Gov. Obiano), expressed that the Governor is impressed with “The Three city chambers” (AACCIMA) for their tireless effort and his full support is assured. Mrs Ilobi called on the media, both print and online, to promote the event and ensure it gets wider coverage and publicity.


The highlight of the event, was the unveiling and presentation of the prospectus. Chief Dr. Linus Ilozie, President, Nnewi Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mining and Agriculture (NCCIMA), was given the responsibility to call out those among the dignitaries to unveil the prospectus.

Chief Azubuike Okafor, President, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria(Enugu, Ebonyi and Anambra Chapter), was the first person called out to officially unveiled the prospective. Other who were called to unveil the prospectus were Sir Izuchukwu Nwabueze, Chief Dibiabueze Chine and Chief Romy Ezennwuka (Ogilisi Igbo) respectively.

Pharm. Uchenna Apakama, President, Chambers of Commerce, Onitsha, gave the vote of thanks as guest were treated to a light refreshment.

In appreciation of Governor Willie Obiano, Pharm. Apakama extolled his leadership style, saying that each time governance is mentioned, Anambra is used as a reference point.In conclusion, He Called on the media practitioners present, to use the power of the social media and spread the good news about what is to come to Anambra.
