Anambra At 25: Obiano to Build International Conference Centre.
IN ANAMBRA: Governor Willie Obiano will, on Saturday, August 27th, 2016 lay the first ceremonial foundation stone to flag off the Proposed construction of the International Conference Centre in Awka.
This project aimed at promoting tourism and making Anambra an international conference hub has been made public by the Commissioner for Information and Communication Strategy, Ogbuefi Tony Nnachetta, during his maiden post-exco brief in Awka.
In the words of Mr Nnachetta, the state Council approved the building of the International Conference Centre to Carter for the needs of Ndi Anambra and beyond as according to him, Awka the capital city, should have such a facility.
On the tourism sector, Ogbuefi Nnachetta said that government has ordered the contractors handling Awka and Nnewi Shopping Malls back to site and added that one of the shopping malls will be operational before the end of this year.
Commissioner Nnachetta said the Agulu Lake resort is nearing completion and that council has set up a committee that will suggest a brand name for the resort, assuring Ndi Anambra that Governor Willie Obiano is pursuing his campaign promises to Ndi Anambra vigorously.
Ogbuefi Nnachetta also said that government has slashed the price of certificate of occupancy (COFOs) for non-government hand in the state to encourage investor to come into the state and purchase land for the building of industries and companies and called on Ndi Anambra all over the world to come home and invest in the state.
