#EdoDecides: PDP Protesters Storm INEC Office.

UPDATE: Protesters have Stormed the INEC Office in Benin Asking the commission to Suspend the Collations, and cancel results from Esan West, NE and other LGA Results.  See Summary of the Collated Results So far Below:

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Godwin Obaseki has taken an early lead in the Edo election over his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) counterpart Pastor Ize-Iyamu.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced results in nine Local Government Areas with the APC winning five, while the PDP won the remaining four.

The PDP won in Orhionmwon, Esan, Esan West, and Esan southeast while the APC won in Uhunwomnde, Owan West, Egor, Igueben, and Oredo.

The APC has a total vote of 142424 so far,


The PDP has 136808, as the APC leads with 5616 votes.

Meanwhile, INEC has halted the announcement of results of the Edo State governorship election.

Protest is ongoing at the INEC headquarters in Edo state as supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are at the venue collation centre demanding a cancellation of the election.

INEC says it will resume collation Soon.
