APGA CRISIS: Ike Oye Indicted By Investigation Panel.
The investigation panel set up by factional leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Ozo Nwabueze Okafor to probe the embattled national chairman of the party, Dr Victor Ike Oye has reported that he was guilty of the allegation of gross misconduct leveled against him.
They said the suspension of the national chairman still remains valid, warning that all agencies and organisations must take note of the party’s National Working Committee’s decision.
The Okafor-led committee had earlier approached the High Court to stop the embattled chairman from parading himself as the APGA leader.
In a statement issued on Thursday by its deputy national secretary, Jerry Obasi, a disciplinary panel, headed by the national youth leader of the party, Engr Chuks Nwoga, was set up to investigate the allegation of gross misconduct leveled against the chairman and two other members of the NWC, Uchenna Okogbuo and Alhaji Abubakar Adamu.
According to the statement, “The investigative panel has submitted its findings and recommendations with very strong indictment on Dr Victor Oye for gross misconduct in gross violation of Article 12 and 19 of APGA constitution.
“It is regrettable that in spite of this current status in the party, which calls for remorse and soul searching on his part which has brought APGA to disrepute and dwindling electoral fortunes in Nigeria, Dr Oye has deliberately refused to heed the good counsel of eminent party leaders.
“The true situation is that the embattled erstwhile chairman remains suspended based on the recommendations of the disciplinary committee set up by the National Working Committee.”
