Dr Okechukwu Odunze Rallies Support For Gov Obiano.
A former Anambra State Gubernatorial candidate and a Political bigwig, Dr. Okechukwu Odunze has rallied support for Governor Willie Obiano, citing the developmental strides recorded by his Administration so far as the best the state has experienced in a long time.
A lot was revealed by the exclusive interview granted by Dr Okechukwu Odunze to Reporters on Wednesday.
Dr Odunze while speaking to journalists at Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja recently stated that there are concrete plans to ensure that all governorship aspirants in the State rally round the incumbent governor to ensure that he returns for a second term in office.
“All the governorship aspirants, the present Senators, will be involved in making Obiano the governor of Anambra State for a 2nd term without surrendering their political parties… What we need is the vote not membership,” Odunze said.
Revealing that the plan is being hatched by a 30-year old political structure involving stakeholders in APC and PDP, Odunze said the new resolution follows the lucid reality that Anambra is working under the present leadership.
“Willie Obiano’s ingenious leadership at a time like this in the history of Nigeria is unprecedented and cannot be compromised on the altar of primordial sentiment or political grand standing.
“Institutions are being set up and established to stay beyond administrations not a one man styled leadership which is what we were used to.
“They say Willie is Working and I say he is providing awesome leadership never seen in my state or anywhere else in Nigeria.
“Willie Obiano deserves to continue his redefinition of leadership for another 4 years.
“We solicit for every party, social groups and cultural groups with all those who can vote and those who can convince people that have vote to come together and join us in this our great political crusade with the interest not only ourselves or for governor Obiano but for our future generation,” Odunze concluded.
Emphasising that only aspirants who are pursuing their personal interests would want to challenge governor Obiano in the November 18 election, Odunze called on ndi Anambra to resist any attempt to rig the process.
