Cardi B Breaks Beyonce’s Billboard Charts Record.
Fast rising US female rapper, Cardi B, who got more nominations than Nicki Minaj on the 2018 Billboard Music Awards has set a new record after dethroning the queen of music, Beyonce. Details below.
Cardi B Breaks Beyonce’s Billboard Charts Record
Since dropping her debut album, Invasion of Privacy, it seems as though the wins just can’t stop coming for Cardi B.
Ever Since her debut last year, she’s caused chaos on the streets of New York, earned 100 million album streams in her first week, and debuted as number one on the Billboard 200 chart. Cardi B appears to be unstoppable.
Well, she can add yet another accolade to her list of achievements, though this one might make the Beyhive pretty upset.
As Billboard reports, Cardi B has just surpassed Beyoncé with the highest number of songs by a solo female act charting on the Billboard Hot 100 simultaneously. Beyoncé set the record in 2016, after 12 songs off her last album, Lemonade, were posted on the chart. Cardi also has 12 songs charting from her album, but her feature on Bruno Mars’ “Finesse (Remix)” was enough to put her over the top with 13 appearances total.
The record holder for highest amount of songs charting across all genders is Drake, with a massive 24 songs charting at the same time. Cardi has the potential, but she’ll have to start releasing much longer albums if she ever hopes to top Drake’s record.
The highest charting song for Cardi currently is the Bad Bunny and J Balvin-featuring, “I Like It” at number eight, and the lowest is “Money Bag” at number 58. The only song on Invasion of Privacy not to chart is the Chance The Rapper-featuring, “Best Life.”
Congrats to Cardi B on yet another momentous accomplishment, hopefully the Beyhive doesn’t take you down for this.
